We race 2 to 3 times per month with a Winter Series and a Summer Series. We also host 2 special “big” shows per year and have hosted IKF event in past.
Kam Kartway is a family owned and operated Outlaw Dirt Kart Track Race Program, located in the Northwest corner of the DFW Metroplex, that has been sanctioned by IKF, Burris and (former) Southern Kart Racing Series. Holding races since 2005 with an average of 9 different class divisions. Our youngest drivers start at the age of 4 1/2 and have ranged in age up to 65.
The Engstroms are a family of racers serving racing families for over 12 years at KAM Kartway. We started out in kart racing back in 1992 with Mike running asphalt flat karts at NTK. We opened our own kart shop (KAM Karting Supply) in 1995 with a small shop on Handley Ederville in Fort Worth before moving to Rhome in 2001.
Our 3 daughters have all had successful karting careers with the youngest still racing in the Open Outlaw 500 class. All 3 girls have also helped with the race track from picking rocks in an open field and digging trenches to lay electrical wiring to Amber being the original scorekeeper and Megan now holding that position, and Kaley filling in as Flagman and Race Director on numerous occasions.
In 2015, KAM Kartway was named a Top 10 Favorite Track and the following year was named a Top 15 Favorite Track by RacingIn.com.
We give a lot of credit and thanks to Ron Clark, owner of Texoma Speedway in Wichita Falls, for helping us get started on the right foot. He continues to be one of the best mentors to this day.
Our goal is to see Outlaw Karting grow with a focus on Driver Development for our youth racers. We follow the time proven successful ladder step approach to learning and our classes are age and ability appropriate with drivers moving up only after they have fully mastered the class assigned. Currently the classes we offer at KAM are Young Guns, Jr 1, Jr 2, Jr 3, Animal, Outlaw 125, Outlaw 250, Open Outlaw and Pro Clone.
Our classes are full and very competitive with drivers being matched very well. Winning at KAM is not an easy task and is hard fought. Therefore, like many tracks, we celebrate the Podium Finishers (top 3) as winners of the field with a Winner Circle celebration that includes a trophy presentation and photo op.
